— MANA POOLS —

OVERVIEW

Mana Pools National Park, located in northern Zimbabwe along the Zambezi River, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its pristine wilderness and exceptional wildlife experiences. The park covers approximately 2,500 square kilometers and is famous for its rich biodiversity, tranquil setting, and stunning landscapes, including the meandering Zambezi River, floodplains, and forested areas.

Mana Pools is especially known for its unique wildlife viewing opportunities, with visitors able to walk through the park and get up close to animals like elephants, lions, leopards, hippos, and buffalo. The park is also home to endangered wild dogs, as well as a variety of antelope species and over 350 bird species, making it a haven for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers.

One of its distinctive features is the use of "game walks" or "walking safaris," where visitors, guided by expert rangers, can experience the park's wildlife on foot, offering a more intimate and thrilling way to explore the area. The park’s relatively remote location and limited development make it one of the most unspoiled and peaceful wildlife experiences in Africa, ideal for those seeking a true wilderness adventure.
